Bridesmaid dress shopping, while fun, can present somewhat of a challenge. Primarily the challenge arises when it comes to selecting a colour. Of course, you’ll want this colour to fit in with your overall wedding scheme. Colours such as nudes and whites will go with pretty much any wedding theme. Here we bring you five shades that will suit every maid in your party.

NUDE

Nude is such a beautiful and timeless shade to go for, you really can’t go wrong. The one thing to bear in mind with this shade. Is that depending on their colouring, each bridesmaid may suit a slightly different shade. So you could opt to let each maid wear a slight variation of nude. This subtle mis-matching will look gorgeous and ensure each girl feels happy and confident. Nude is also very versatile and will complement whatever colour scheme you are going for, as well as a plethora of floral arrangements. Another bonus is that it’s a shade that can be worn time and again after your wedding day.

WHITE

Yes traditionally only the bride wears white, but remember Pippa and Kate? The key with opting for white dresses for your bridesmaids is to keep them very simple – no embellishments or detailing. Another way to differentiate them from your own dress is to opt for a different length. If you are wearing full length, let the bridesmaids wear a shorter one. Or you could opt for a different fabric for your maids, such as a flowy jersey, a stark contrast to your formal wedding dress. Crisp white is also universally flattering and looks beautifully elegant.

SAGE

The muted softness of sage adds an ethereal touch. This colour will work really well with other pastels in your wedding theme and so makes for the perfect complemented tone for a pastel-based summer wedding. In terms of flowers, blushes, pinks, corals and whites will go beautifully.

BLUSH

This is a gorgeous, feminine shade. Like nude, you will find that each maid may suit a slightly different version of the colour. During the spring and summer months, the High Street is usually flooded with dresses in shades of blush. So your maids will find it easy to find a dress that suits them.
