WEDDING COLOUR THEME IDEAS: ALL WHITE
When it comes to wedding themes, the colour is one of the first things brides tend to think about. At Spinnaker we’ve hosted so many themes – pretty pastels, bold’s, neutrals and beautiful brights! One colour which always works so beautifully is white. White everything – linens, table décor, flowers, or white with just a splash of colour on the flowers.
Here are just a few ideas if you’re planning a white wedding:
Fairy lights and candles
Fairy lights and candles look beautiful at all weddings, regardless of the colour scheme. There is something ethereal and extra beautiful about twinkling lights against white. Similar to how snow makes everything seem brighter and prettier, the lights enhance the sheer beauty of the white. While the white makes the lights seem just a little more stunning, without taking away anything from the other.
Candelabras look so elegant as centre pieces, if you’re having a white wedding these look gorgeous just lit or you can also dress them with pretty white blooms. Dotting lots of twinkling little tea lights on the tables also creates a beautiful ambience. You can be quite creative when finding vessels for tea lights (as long as it’s safe!), some of the prettiest ones we’ve seen on Pinterest are tea lights in mason jars filled with water. You can also have lots of pretty little glasses and fill them alternately with a candle and white flower and dot these around your tables. Also, play around with different heights with candles to add a little depth. A candle lit aisle looks stunning too!
White cakes with embellishment
There is still so much you can do with white cakes, there’s something so beautiful in the simplicity of an all-white wedding cake. It can look very traditional, a nod to an age before the modern cake of colour became popular, or it can reflect modernity with unique patterns and piping or just look very elegant. You can play with sugared flowers, top it with fresh white flowers, go for a naked cake with white cream and flowers or have ruffled layers.
Baby’s breath, otherwise known as Gypsophila, is one of the simplest, most delicate and sweetest flowers around, and therein lays its sheer charm. An all-Gypsophila bouquet looks super pretty and quite like a cloud! What also looks gorgeous is filling a pretty white birdcage with them and having this as table décor with lots of little tea lights too. Pretty tea cups filled with the flowers looks lovely too.
If you’ve seen photos of Sofia Vergara’s wedding you will have seen the absolutely beautiful wall of white flowers and it will probably have taken your breath away. Covering your own reception venue in flowers upon flowers looks stunning! Fluffy blooms like hydrangeas or peonies look best. If the cost of covering the entire room with flowers is a little too eye-watering. You could just cover the top table in flowers for an equally wonderful effect.
White bridesmaid dresses
Traditionally only the bride wears white, but a few brides today are going for white dresses for their brides (See Poppy Delevingne and Kate Middleton) and this can look so elegant! The key here is keeping the bridesmaid dresses simple, with simple cuts and non-fussy styles. Going ever so slightly off white works beautifully too.
I must say i do love a white wedding they always look so graceful and crisp.
